These days, we're living with fear we didn’t ask for. It feels like danger is everywhere. On the news, streets, schools, market, road, and even in our minds.  

You scroll through social media to relax, and suddenly you’re staring at another kidnapping, another massacre, another missing person or another bad news.

Even when you are indoors, one small sound outside can make your heart jump.

A child’s knockout can feel like a gunshot, a knock at the door can send chills all over your body, an unknown number calling can make you fear the worst. God!

We are living in a time where constant fear is becoming normal which isn't supposed to be so.

Today, let's learn how to stay aware, stay prepared, and protect ourselves and families with wisdom while asking God to take utmost control.

A young woman was returning from work one evening. She took a regular bike that she had used many times. As they rode, she noticed the rider kept slowing down and checking his phone. Her heart started racing.

She remembered the news about people being kidnapped by bikers, and panic filled her chest. Fear told her “Jump down now!! or never! but her inner mind told her, “Stay calm but alert.

She held her bag close while saying silent prayers, then told the rider to stop at the next busy junction. He dropped her safely, no danger at all. It happens that the rider has a package to deliver and was trying to contact the receiver. *The country we found ourselves 

Safety Points

1: Be prayerful: Ask for the spirit of discernment and divine protection.

2: Trust your instincts: If something feels wrong, it probably is. Your spirit often sees danger before your eyes do.

3: Stay Aware of Your Surroundings: Avoid walking with both ears blocked with earpieces. 

Don’t be lost in your phone when outside, please.

4: Maximum observation: Before entering any bike, taxi or Keke. No late-night travels.

5: Share Your Movement: Tell someone where you are going.

Share your live location with your trusted person when entering public transport.

Keep emergency contacts ready.

6: Choose Safety Over Convenience: Don’t enter a bike or taxi because it is cheap; choose a safer option.

Avoid isolated paths, even if they’re shortcuts.

Don’t open the door for unknown visitors. If someone knocks, confirm who before opening.

7: Stay Informed Without Getting Overwhelmed: Get news from reliable sources, not rumor pages.

Limit how much bad news you consume per day.

8: Know Your Emergency Plan: Save emergency numbers.

Have a “quick grab” bag for sudden movement if need be.

Teach children how to respond when something feels wrong.

Limit indoor very loud music in case something is happening outside.
