SHE WAS IN LABOUR BUT HE STILL WANTED CONTROL.

SHE WAS IN LABOUR BUT HE STILL WANTED CONTROL.

*SHE WAS IN LABOUR BUT HE STILL WANTED CONTROL.* 😭🤰🏼

Marriage is supposed to feel safe, especially in moments when a woman is most vulnerable but sometimes, the greatest pain is not the labour itself, It's realizing that the person meant to protect you still wants control even while you are suffering.

A woman can survive many things but being unheard during pain leaves a different kind of wound. 💔

*Anonymous;* A pregnant woman lay on the bed crying in pain. Her body was tired, voice weak.

The nurses had explained clearly: “She needs a C-section. Waiting longer could become dangerous.” But her husband refused.

While he argued, raised his voice, she held her stomach and weeped. 😢 While decisions were being debated, she was the one carrying the pain. Nobody could feel what she was feeling.

How can a woman be married and still have no say over her own body even when her life is at stake?

*REFLECTION*

This is bigger than one hospital story. Many women are living under men who control decisions that should belong to both partners.

Some women cannot:

1: Make medical decisions without permission

2: Spend money without approval

3: Start a business without resistance

4: Speak up without being shut down

5: Make choices about their own lives

And during serious moments like pregnancy, childbirth, health? this control becomes dangerous because childbirth isn't ego, competition or pride etc. IT IS LIFE!

*REALITY*

_Some women stay silent because they have no financial power. 🥹This is why independence matters.

It is not to disrespect marriage, compete with a husband but to have a voice, options and dignity.

*Many women were taught:*

_Depend fully on your husband, Let him decide everything but nobody talks enough about what happens when the person deciding is not KIND.

*CAUSES*

1: Low self esteem or lack of confidence and money

2: Fear of conflict or violence

3: Growing up believing a wife must always obey

4: Marrying unkind, controlling & manipulative partner

5: Lack of education or exposure 😔

6: Pressure from family or being judged by society

7: fear of divorce & raising children alone.

8: having no personal identity outside marriage / marrying too early without understanding self worth.

9: Religious misinterpretation used to silence women 😭

10: lack of support system (friends or family)

*LESSONS*

_Marriage should never remove your identity, A woman deserves a say over her own body.

_Kindness matters more than status

_Financial independence is protection

Before choosing a partner, look beyond sweet words.

Ask yourself: Does he listen? Respects women? show kindness or believe your voice matters too?

Because marriage is not only about procreation, It is about safety and every woman deserves a partner who protects her. ❤️🫂
